Following an internal career development appointment, Oak Tree Animals’ Charity has a rare opportunity within our Small Animals Team for a Rehomer and Caseworker. The position reports to our Veterinary Nurse Supervisor who leads a small, dedicated team in the care, socialisation and rehoming of cats and dogs to suitable homes.

The post holder will be responsible for feeding, cleaning and exercising designated animals, liaising with vets and behaviour consultants as required, talking with adopters to ensure they find the best possible homes and for arranging and undertaking home visits.

The post calls for well-developed team working skills, high standards of professional and personal behaviour and the ability to set and achieve complex and often conflicting objectives. To achieve these tasks you must be a competent and effective communicator, well able to deal with clients of the Charity and visitors to our site at Wetheral Shields. You must also be comfortable with the use of IT databases and systems to ensure efficient administration of records, welfare issues and rehoming procedures. 

The role is offered at a basic salary of £16,644 over 40 hours worked over a rolling 7 day rota (including weekend and Bank Holidays). Paid holiday entitlement is 28 days and a paid sick pay scheme is in operation.
