Animals and Communities Engagement Officer

Thank you for your interest in working for the Oak Tree Animals’ Charity.

Animals and Communities Engagement Officer

Are you passionate about animals? Good with people? Enjoy a challenge? Work well under pressure?

Animals and Communities Engagement Officer

Then this could be the role for you!

At Oak Tree Animals we are dedicated to animal welfare and we believe that the best way to care for animals is to educate owners about responsible pet ownership.  This means that we are recruiting a truly unique person who is confident when dealing with the general public and their animals, especially those whom we care for; namely dogs, cats and horses.

In this role you will be interacting with the local community within the Carlisle and surrounding areas talking to pet owners, businesses and local organisations. You will create and deliver a sensitive outreach programme which will include assisting in the operation of food banks for animals, providing advice and support on responsible pet ownership and managing positive programmes such as the Trap, Neuter and Return programme for feral cats.

To succeed you must be confident in preparing and delivering presentations alongside creating informative animal welfare literature for the local community. You must be an effective team-player but you will have the confidence to make your own decisions when placed in challenging situations. Above all else you must have a sense of humour.

To apply you must hold a full UK driving license. A background in practical animal welfare and/or a relevant qualification would be advantageous, however all applicants will be considered. If you have a passion for the challenge send your CV and a covering letter selling your skills and ambition and achievements to the HR Dept. Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, Wetheral Shields, CA4 8JA or email hr@oaktreeanimals.org.uk
