From a young age I have always loved animals, over the years I’ve had hamsters, Guinea-pigs, stick insects and mice to name a few! When I was 13 I volunteered here walking dogs and cuddling cats as part of my Duke of Edinburgh award. That was when I fell in love with this incredible local charity and the continuous hard work of the staff to provide a better life for the animals in their care. My passion for animals lead me to study Biology at university. After graduating I went on to work in science, during which I discovered my passion for fundraising and organising events to raise money for Oak Tree Animals’ Charity.
Last year my dream of having a dog of my own came true when I got my Labrador Digby. Since then he has stolen my heart, and in my free time we enjoy walking the Wainwrights - hoping to complete all 214 of them with together over the next few years. My love for Oak Tree and the work they do has continued to grow as Digby and I have attended many of the amazing fundraising events. When I saw this role advertised it was like a dream come true, I cannot wait to get stuck in organising future events, interacting with the public and ultimately helping to provide a brighter future for animals in need.
