National Pet Month Photograph Competition
It’s National Pet Month and it’s your chance to win an original painting of your very own pet!
To celebrate National Pet Month Oak Tree Animals’ Charity is launching a photo competition for all pet lovers to be able to share and enjoy pictures of their pets, as well as a chance to win a great prize. All you have to do is take a snap of your pet and enter them.
The top prize is a fantastic original acrylic, 20cm x 20cm painting of your very own pet! To make this possible we are lucky enough to have local Cumbrian artist Karen McSkimming donate her valuable time. Karen produces beautiful and eye catching paintings, but a particular favourite of hers is ‘pet portraits’. To see more of Karen’s work please visit her Facebook Page - ‘Artful Regards’ and Website
The theme your picture should depict is “springtime with my pet”. Whether it be your dog enjoying the daffodils, your cat warming themselves in the spring sunshine or your horse avoiding an April shower!
How the competition works
Photos can be submitted from now until midnight on 25th April 2019. Your pictures will then be displayed on our Facebook page from 26th April until Sunday 5th May. The ten pictures with the most Facebook ‘likes’ in this time will become our top ten finalists. A panel of judges will then decide which of the top ten wins the competition overall. The winner will be announced on Monday 6th May. It couldn’t be simpler!
How to enter
There are just three simple steps to take to enter.
- Your pictures must be emailed to email@example.com. Submissions via Facebook will not count. When submitting your photo please specify your name, address, email address and, telephone number. In the subject line of the email please use the reference “Pet Photo Competition”

By donating, you are helping us to continue our work supporting owners and their pets within the local community. By ‘liking’ and sharing our Facebook page you are doing a fantastic job of helping to raise awareness of our work in the community.
*** Please note, if you want to enter the competition you need to email your images to firstname.lastname@example.org If you would like to submit more than one photograph of your pet, that is absolutely fine, but only one image per pet will be entered into the prize draw, so if you send more than one image of the same animal, it will be left up to the Oak Tree team to decide which photograph is selected to go through to the final.
Please also note, if you submit a photograph which contains more than one animal and you are lucky enough to win our fantastic prize, you will be asked to select which animal you would like to have painted as the prize is only for one. Many thanks :)
Thanks for entering, and good luck!
