Description

Meet Chewie. He is a 2 year old SBT X who is looking for a home to call his own.

Chewie is a friendly, happy chap who will need an experienced owner to share and enjoy activities with. Chewie enjoys his walks and loves to jog along beside you, so if you enjoy running in the great outdoors, then he may be a perfect partner.

Unlike his name, he is good in his kennel, and never chews his beds! He is fully house trained and, once settled in his new home, he could be left for up to 4 hours.

Chewie is generally calm but, like most staffies, he can get super excited by certain things. He would need a home in a quiet location as he tends to notice external noises, which can set him off barking. Chewie will need a home with no other pets. He does get very excited on a lead when he sees other animals and he barks and pulls continuously, so his adopter will need to take this into consideration. A home where he does not come into contact with other dogs would be preferable.

Chewie could possibly live with older children, teenage upwards. He has quite an independent nature which will impact his recall. With that in mind, he will need either a home with a good sized garden, or access to a safe offlead area to enjoy running around. At Oak Tree we have a paddock which is available to hire for a nominal donation.

Chewie will need an owner who is keen to continue his training. We are developing a training guide for him to give to adopters. If you feel he may be the dog for you, then get in touch for a chat about him.

Chewie has the following requirements:

  • Home in quiet location
  • Able and happy to walk Chewie in quiet areas
  • Secure outdoor area
  • No other pets
  • Older children possible
  • Active adopter - someone who enjoys running would be ideal
  • Owner experienced and happy to continue training

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
