Description

Frankie is a wonderfully sweet dog that is looking for a home with experienced owners.

Frankie has bounds of energy and like most labs is food obsessed! She has a very playful nature and could live with older children (10+) who have lived with dogs before. As she is quite boisterous and grabby with food we feel she would not be suitable in a home with young children. Frankie can be very strong on the lead but is responding quickly to loose lead training, however she would need someone who can handle her strength when she pulls.

Frankie can be wary of new people and quite fearful of men but once she knows you she is incredibly affectionate and always happy to see you. We have been working on this at the centre and she has been progressing really well but this work will have to be continued in her new home. Someone with experience of nervous dogs would be ideal in helping Frankie to build her confidence. For this reason we would also ask potential adopters to visit Frankie at least a few times.

We are still assessing Frankies sociability with other dogs but at this point we feel she would be best as the only dog in the home. She has lived with cats before so could potentially do so again.

Frankie is a happy, friendly and very trainable dog who just needs a loving home with owners who are able to build her confidence through positive training.

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
