Description

Max is a lovely lad who adores all of his human friends here at Oak Tree. He greets everybody in his kennel with a wagging tail and a teddy in his mouth.

He is housetrained and settles in a home quickly, enjoying his home comforts, especially a big cosy bed.. or the sofa! He is happy to be left once settled and travels well in the car - the backseat is his personal favourite spot, if possible. Max is an affectionate, fun and playful boy - who loves nothing more than playing "catch me if you can" in our secure paddocks, which usually means we chase him and he reluctantly gives us the soccer ball to throw again. Max loves his teddy's and toys, and has built up quite a collection.

He does struggle around other dogs, but does have some walking buddies here at the centre. When introduced gently he can walk nicely with another calm dog. He particularly liked Bonnie (a Labradoodle) and Riley (a Greyhound) interacting very well with these calm dogs.

Max is fully muzzle trained and happy to wear his muzzle when out on walks and adventures - this is necessary due to his anxiousness and frustration around unknown dogs.

Max has spent enough time in the kennels, and really deserves a calm, loving space to call his own, with a dedicated and patient household. Max would be best suited in quieter areas and to have his own back garden to enjoy outside of his walks.

Could you give this brilliant and loving boy a home to call his own?

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
