More about Me
17/11/2019. We have had a lot of interest in Suzie and are looking at all enquiries. Please bear with us and we will get back to everyone who has expressed an interest.
03/11/2019 Please read the following information about Suzie very carefully to be sure that you can offer the home that she needs.
Suzie is a 5 year old Labrador Retriever who came into our care with 3 other dogs. Suzie is extremely nervous of normal day to day activities, sights and sounds that most dogs would be used to. She has always lived in a kennel and may have never been on a lead. With a lot of patience, we can see Suzie is becoming braver by the day but she will need a home that has the experience, time and patience to continue her training at a pace that she can cope with. Suzie clearly wants attention and interaction but has yet to be completely relaxed around people.
We are looking for a quiet adult home, preferably in a rural or peaceful location. We anticipate that she may be fine with visiting children once she has settled in. She could live with another dog quite happily although she does not appear to gain any extra confidence through being around another dog. She seemed quite excited when she saw a cat so may be better homed without a cat. Suzie will need someone at home most of the time, at least initially, to help her to adjust. She would suit an active retired couple.
We will be looking for an owner who can come here multiple times to spend time with Suzie to help her to build a bond with them. Suzie has yet to undergo some vet work so is not quite ready for adoption, but we welcome enquiries.
Please understand that we will not home Suzie on a first come/first serve basis as we will be looking for the home that suits her needs the best.
WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED
On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
