Say hi to Zooks, our lovely 1 year old lurcher x Patterdale. To give an idea of his size, he weighs around 21kg.

Zooks has a lot of energy so will need a home that can provide lots of physical and mental stimulation. He may be a great candidate for someone who does park runs, fell running or canicross.

Zooks will need adopters who will continue his training but the good news is, he is very keen and eager to learn. He responds well to our positive, games based training so we will be looking for someone who will enjoy continuing that. Zooks is loving learning about Mantrailing, Agility and Hoopers and a load of other games. He will need lots of varying activities to tire him mentally and physically.

Zooks is not used to being left alone much and may well bark if left. We will be looking for a home that can maybe take him to work, or who has extended family perhaps, who could help with his day care, until he learns that being left alone is nothing to worry about.

Zooks may be able to live with another dog subject to introductions going well. Due to his exuberance, we would only consider a home with older children, approx 14 +. He loves his walks but would need to be kept safely on a lead around livestock.

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
