Animal Welfare Education Alliance
24th October 2019
We were invited to join the Animal Welfare Education Alliance earlier this year and Caroline, our General Manager, was delighted to attend a meeting yesterday at Wood Green, Godmanchester to discuss how we can work collaboratively to improve animal welfare through education. With representatives from a variety of charities including RSPCA, Blue Cross, PDSA, Cats Protection, Dogs' Trust, Battersea, Raystede, Wood Green and British Hen Welfare among others and industry partners including APBC, ABTC and HBC, conversations were productive, engaging and forward thinking, all with the aim of helping to improve the lives of animals and their owners.
We were then given the opportunity to visit the Welcome Centre at Wood Green, prompting lively discussion about how education and rehoming can be developed and linked further within and between organisations.
At Oak Tree we believe education at all levels is essential to ensure that animal welfare in our region and nationally is improved and we have many projects planned for the 2020 ... keep your eyes peeled!
