Short Story Competition Fundraiser

Put pen to paper in 2020 to write a maximum 500-word short story

Top prizes to be won! You could see your story published on our website, win a 1-hour Pony Fun Experience, or a Cream Tea for Two in our Tearoom.

New closing date: Midnight 8th April, 2020. Winner to be announced on Saturday 11th April, via Facebook Live.

Get your creative hat on and celebrate the special bond between animals and humans in just 500 words.

There is no age restriction for entry and the stories will be judged within designated age categories. We are looking for stories illustrating the unique bond between animals and their owners.

Enter by emailing your piece of writing to community@oaktreeanimals.org.uk, post to the address below, or hand your entry to our reception desk. Please ensure you provide your full name, contact phone number and email and an indication of your age, when submitting your entry. 

PLEASE NOTE it is £2 per entry, or £10 for a school with unlimited entries. You can either make your donation online by following this link [please press here!] Please make reference to your name / school when making your donation so that we can match it to our records.  

All funds generated will go directly to Oak Tree and help animals in their care. 

By entering the Short Story Competition, you are giving Oak Tree permission to publish your story, along with your name. Entries without the entry fee will not be counted.
