Blackburn Woods

Our beautiful woodland provides an idyllic space for dog walking, relaxation and education.

Blackburn Woods

Wandering through this beautiful mixed woodland, visitors have the opportunity to experience the tranquillity of our native wildlife by exploring the pathways, following the nature trail or reclining at our viewpoint with outstanding views across the Pennines and the Eden Valley towards Corby Castle before enjoying a cuppa and slice of homemade cake in our tearoom.

Opened in 1989 by David Bellamy as place for wildlife conservation and community education, Blackburn Woods provides shelter to a wide number of wild animal species including:

The Snuffle Run

This secure area provides an ideal place for dogs to explore off-lead and take part in scent games, training and other "snuffling activities". The Snuffle Run can be booked on 01228 560082 for a donation to the Charity and is available 10-4pm daily.
