Come and meet our animals onsite and visit our tea room with beautiful views over the Cumbrian Fells.

Our Cats' and Dogs' Welfare Comes First
Please don't be disappointed when you visit and you cannot see our dogs and gain access to the internal cattery.
Studies have shown that visitors walking around kennels can cause distress for the dogs, affecting their mental and physical health.
With the dogs' welfare in mind, we restrict kennels access to staff and volunteers only. This will mean that dogs are less stressed and have improved and quicker rehoming prospects.
However, you are likely to see our dogs walking round the site and playing in our runs and training areas.
The internal cattery is restricted to only those who are genuinely looking to rehome a cat. We strongly suggest calling ahead to make an appointment for rehoming since we cannot guarantee staff availability at busy times.
Also, for owners wishing to bring an animal to the centre, please see our pages about giving up an animal. It is essential that owner contact us first and do not bring any animal onto site without prior arrangement.
The main site in Wetheral is currently open during the hours of 1.00pm – 4.00pm, Wednesday - Friday and 11.00am - 4.00pm at weekends. There are safety measures in place to comply with the current regulations.
The playground will be open from Saturday 4th July. We recommend if you plan to use our playground, that you bring your own sanitiser and cloth to wipe equipment down prior to and after use. Hand sanitiser will be stationed at the entrance to the playground too.
The Tearoom will be reopening on Wednesday 8th July. Opening times will be 10.00am - 4.00pm Wednesday to Sunday with a limited menu for the time being - don’t worry though, scones will be back!! We will be putting a queuing system in place and will be asking customers to complete a small form with their contact details for the Track and Trace system. These details will only be used in conjunction with that unless you tick the box saying you want us to ‘keep in touch’.
We are asking the public who wish to enquire about rehoming animals, visiting the Tack Shack, hiring the paddock area/snuffle run or hiring the arena to call 01228 560082 during opening hours, in the first instance, to make an appointment.
Please be aware that on Tuesdays there are limited appointments and no access to the lower site to allow for veterinary care and training.
