Fundraising and Communications Manager

Oak Tree Animals’ Charity has been caring for animals for since 1909. During that time there have been many changes in animal care and how the Charitable Sector is organised. Whilst caring for animals has always been our prime concern, we have constantly evolved so that we are able to offer the best care for our animals and utilise today’s fast moving technology to raise the funds necessary to do so.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Fundraising and Communications Manager to provide essential leadership and direction for this team as well as being actively involved in fundraising and communication activities. 

You will lead the development of our fundraising programme to include:

  • Developing a fundraising strategy with clear KPI, targets and milestones
  • Maintaining a diverse and effective fundraising portfolio, monitoring the efficacy of programme streams, the wider fundraising environment and responding appropriately
  • Working with the General Manager and other Senior Managers to further develop our list of potential connections, influencers and donors and steward our supporters.
  • Working with our Communications Officer to create an inspiring and engaging communications plan
  • Developing a clear understanding about Oak Tree and be able to articulate our vision and work in a clear, passionate and confident way to potential and existing donors and the wider community
  • Using knowledge of new and emerging social media and website processes to lead our team with on and off-line communications overseeing informative, entertaining and contemporary press releases, articles and comment which will promote our fundraising, community work and events. 

To succeed in this post you will have at least (ideally) two years’ experience in a fundraising and communications role where you will have honed your presentational and networking skills, and will have a portfolio of achievements which demonstrate your ability to devise and deliver complex solutions against challenging timeframes.

This is a senior role within our organisation and we are flexible in terms of your career background.

Demonstrable passion, experience and enthusiasm for working in this sector are more important than qualifications but, what we do need, is someone who can complement our existing skills and join us ready to add value to our team.
