Community Engagement Officer

Oak Tree Animals' Charity believes that every animal matters and we rehabilitate, nurture and support them working proactively with owners and the community to prevent unnecessary suffering and to improve welfare. We aim to deal with problems at the lowest level and before there is a welfare need offering support, advice and assistance. 

The successful candidate will work within our Community Engagement Department working within to community in the interest of animals. this will entail delivering an outreach programme for cats and dogs, the management of trap/neuter, release scheme for cats in feral colonies together with "one off" solutions for rarer animals welfare activities such as hoarding. Additionally, the post holder will be confident dealing with multi - media presentations whilst working alongside our fundraising team to coordinate the effective transmission of information and the enlist support. 

We are looking for a rare individual, self-confident, happy to work alone and in and often challenging environment. you must be prepared to make decisions and to act upon them in the field without being able to defer for advice whilst balancing often conflicting priorities. you must, therefore, be able to balance difficult issues by using tact and diplomacy whilst retaining your sense of humour. 

To apply you must hold a minimum Level 2 Animal management, welfare or behavioural qualification and a full driving license.
