Education & Learning
We have a purpose built education/meeting room here at Oak Tree and welcome schools, community groups and corporates to make use of the facilities.
Oak Tree Animals’ Charity are excited to have a new Community Education Officer, Nicky, ready and waiting to come and talk to you!
If you run a school or community group and are looking for someone to run a workshop about responsible pet ownership, safety around dogs, the costs of pet ownership or any other relevant topic then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We don't charge for sessions, instead, we ask that pupils organise a fundraising activity after their visit to help raise awareness and some funds for the animals in our care.
Having a session here at Oak Tree, in our dedicated education room, will allow pupils and teachers alike to get a real sense of what we do here as a Charity. However, if you would like us to visit you, we are happy to discuss delivering one of our sessions at your school. Due to demand, in-school visits need to be within 40 minute radius of our centre. We offer fun, light-hearted, interactive sessions which can be tailored to fit your specific requirements.
To arrange a workshop please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01228 560082.
We would love to talk to your community group! We can deliver a general talk about the Charity and what we do here as a whole, including our plans for the future, or we can provide a more specific talk about a particular animal (we deal with dogs, cats and equines) or other topic relevant to what we do as a Charity.
We are very happy to come to your usual meeting place, but we would also encourage you to visit us here at Oak Tree Farm for a tour of our facilities. Our tearoom is open 7 days a week, 10.00am - 4.00pm, so why not consider having a tour followed by lunch?
Please call us on 01228 560082 to book a tour or to find out more.
