We would be lost without our fabulous volunteers, and are incredibly grateful for everything they contribute here at Oak Tree.
There are lots of ways you can help through volunteering here at Oak Tree Animals' Charity. We depend on our volunteers to help us with every aspect of running a successful charity.
Not only are they great at what they do, but by providing their skills and time, they allow us to do work to help the animals that simply wouldn’t be able to happen without them.
If you would like to join our dedicated team of volunteers, you’ve come to the right place!
We have lots of great opportunities to get involved with through volunteering and we will provide all the training necessary specific to the role. Please check out our volunteer profiles for further information on specific volunteer roles:
Our volunteers need to be 16 years old or over.

Work experience, typically for young people and students, offers individuals an opportunity to gain valuable and hands-on experience in the world of work. Additionally, it helps provide them with an insight into and understanding of what is involved in the day-to-day work of that role and the organisation.
There is also a benefit to the organisation. At Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, we strongly rely on the efforts of our volunteers and the help they offer to ensure the animals in our care are looked after in the best way possible. Individuals on work experience placements play a key part in our invaluable volunteer community.
As of December 2019, we are reviewing work experience placements, including voluntary placements for Duke of Edinburgh awards. We are therefore currently unable to accept any applications. If you’re keen to get involved with the charity on a regular basis, please see our volunteer opportunities below.
If you’re studying for a Level 3 Animal Management course at Newton Rigg College, we can offer the right student a regular placement within our Small Animals’ team. To apply, please complete and return our volunteer application form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
