Operations Manager

Oak Tree Animals Charity is a registered charity offering rehoming, community animal welfare and education services in Cumbria and Southern Scotland.

As part of our planned development we have created a new position, reporting to the General Manager, responsible for the creation and implementation of strategic policy initiatives in areas such as charity shops, retail, commercial activities and volunteering. The post holder will also be expected to work closely with the charity’s small animal, equine and community engagement teams. They will lead the charity’s trading activities including the design of sales strategy and profit levels together with developing corporate partnerships. They will also monitor the charity’s operations in terms of animal welfare, community engagement and education, working on projects to maximise the impact of our work.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to corporate strategy outside of their and ensure that all proposals are linked to the charity’s core values and vision and able to withstand financial challenge. This is a complex opportunity which requires both sound judgement and acute interpersonal skills. It will appeal to individuals who aspire to lead an animal charity and who have the skills, drive and ambition to attain their goal.

You will be an accomplished communicator, academically strong with an enquiring intellect and self-motivated. You will, ideally, have a background in the animal welfare sector but essentially you must have the vision and desire to shape the future of our charity.
