Pony Ownership Workshop

Interested in owning your own equine? This day will teach you all about caring for and owning a pony!

This workshop is for children (aged 10 to 15 years old) and their parents/guardians who are interested in pony ownership, or are first time owners looking to learn more.

The day will cover topics including:

• Day-to-day basic pony care
• Food preparation and feeding
• Appropriate handling and health checking
• Weight management and how to measure a horses weight
• Appropriate working and pasture management
• Common health problems and when to call a vet
• Health of the ridden horse
• Equine behavioural needs
• The cost of horse ownership

Prior to the workshop you will be asked to fill out a form outlining your experience and particular interests so that we can tailor the training to each individual’s needs.

Requirements:

• It is important to arrive 10 minutes before the arrival time to ensure the event can begin on time.
• Please bring weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes / wellies.
• Please bring a packed lunch or consider buying a picnic bags which are available to buy from our on site Tearoom.
• Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions.

Booking:

This workshop is £30 for one child and one accompanying adult. There are 8 spaces available (4 adult and child duos).
