Cattery Support Volunteer

Could you help give our gorgeous cats the love and care they need to thrive? Joining our Cattery volunteer team will give you the opportunity to look after, play with and help socialise our cats at Oak Tree.

Volunteer Application Form

Task include:

  • Cleaning and upkeep of cat pens and equipment. 
  • Sterilising of items – food bowls, toys etc.
  • Refreshing and replacing litter trays.
  • Assisting with laundry.
  • Carrying out other duties as required – e.g. polishing glass, mopping floors etc.
  • Cat socialisation (with very nervous/shy cats this can even be just sitting quietly in the pen while reading a book), playing and grooming.
  • Making notes/inform staff of any issues (health or behaviour).
  • To follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all bio-security procedures are followed.

What attributes are we looking for?

  • Experience of owning/caring for cats.
  • Knowledge of cat care and behaviour – understanding cats’ needs 
  • Capable of reading and writing observations and keeping accurate records.
  • Comfortable in a physically active role spending time on your feet.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Happy to follow instructions and new ways of working.
  • Love of cats!

Own transport is beneficial due to our location - we are currently not in a position to be able to offer transport.

Training and support will be provided for this role as appropriate.

Shifts available (you can sign up for one or multiple shifts):

Saturday 13.00pm to 16.30pm and Sunday 13.00pm to 16.30pm
