Bioblitz - a fantastic way to feel close to nature!
7th May 2018
Our second ever Bioblitz is an opportunity to work alongside experts from Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre (CBDC) and local wildlife groups, learning about our fantastic native woodland. Spend the day discovering the many different flora and fauna in Blackburn Woods. This is a fantastic way to feel close to nature!
The Bioblitz will encourage visitors to explore the Charity’s 2.4ha mixed woodland, recently opened up to the community, and get involved with bug hunts, species identification and a range of family friendly wood-based activities. Open from 11- 4pm, visitors are invited to drop in and get involved in the fun at any point throughout the day with lunches and snacks available at the Charity’s tearoom ‘The Barkery’.
Blackburn woods is a beautiful space that we re-opened in 2017 to provide opportunities for our community to have a great space for dog-walking, schools and community groups to interact with wildlife and opportunities for everyone to get involved in active woodland conservation.
