Equine Rehomer (Part Time 32 hrs)

Oak Tree Animal’s Charity are seeking to recruit a part time (32 hrs) Equine Rehomer. You will be part of a small but dedicated team responsible for the day to day care of on-site equines and field animals. In addition to everyday yard duties, you will assist in the training and development of our horses and ponies with a view to preparing them for their new homes.
You will have experience of dealing with young and/or nervous horses and will promote evidence based, ethical training and handling methods. As a Rehomer you will have responsibility for advertising, promoting and, ultimately, matching horses and ponies with prospective homes. As such, you will need to be competent in managing the expectations of members of the public and dealing with conflict. Please note that there are very limited opportunities ridden work in this role.
You will also have the opportunity to promote equine and field animal welfare through our community outreach programmes. Experience of working within a welfare or charitable organisation is desirable. A full, clean, manual driving licence is essential.
