Fundraising Officer

I was lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of pets as I was growing up, and my passion for animals led me to complete an HND and BSc (Hons) in animal-related subjects at college.

My first animal job was caring for, and rehoming, the stray dogs of Hull. I then moved into Zookeeping at Flamingo Land and Twycross Zoo.

For a couple of years, I was the Kennel Supervisor at a rescue centre in Somerset, then moved back up North to be a Zookeeper at the Highland Wildlife Park and the Carnivore Deputy Team Leader at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. A promotion took me to being the Headkeeper at The Lake District Wildlife Park, near Keswick. After 7 years there, I felt like a new challenge, so threw myself totally out of my comfort zone to become the newest member of the Fundraising Team at Oak Tree Animals' Charity.

Everyone here is so passionate about animal welfare, and it’s great to be part of such a forward-thinking, supportive and welcoming group of people.
