Community Fundraising Ambassador
This volunteer role is key to helping raise awareness of the great work that the Charity does and to raise much-needed funds to help more animals.
Tasks include
- Helping the Fundraising Team to run stalls featuring games, tombolas and raffles at events including galas, fetes and shows, as well as our own on-site events at Easter, Summer and Christmas.
- Attend bucket collections at venues including our Charity Shops and supermarkets.
- If volunteering at Oak Tree Farm, you will provide a friendly and informative welcome service for all visitors to our site in Wetheral Shields.
What attributes are we looking for?
- Must be over 16 years old
- Friendly and confident
- Comfortable speaking to and dealing with members of the public of all ages
- Strong interest in animal welfare, along with an understanding of animals within the rescue environment
- Ability to take instruction, as well as good verbal communication skills
- Happy to work alone or as part of a team
- Own transport is beneficial due to locations – we are currently not able to offer transport.
Support and training will be provided for this role as appropriate.
Hours
Hours are flexible and we welcome any availability - on average one day a week for four hours plus, there are opportunities at our three main fundraising fairs which are open 10.00am to 3.00pm. Bucket collections generally involve one to two-hour stints, whereas stalls at offsite events like fetes and galas can vary depending on availability.
