Equine Community Volunteer

This volunteer role is to provide vital support to a new area of our equine department. The role involves helping with the organisation, planning and delivery of events. This can include assisting with equine experience days and workshops onsite as well as going to offsite events, promoting the charity and delivering educational messaging.

Tasks include

  • Planning and organising events.
  • Contacting other organisations.
  • Representing the charity at events.
  • Working with children and young people.
  • Helping with workshops.
  • Writing information to be displayed on social media.

What attributes are we looking for?

  • Strong interest in animal welfare, along with an understanding of animals within the rescue environment.
  • Communication skills
  • Good with children
  • Knowledge of safety around equines, the equine industry and current welfare issues is preferred
  • Experience or open mindedness towards positive reinforcement training methods.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Social media/video making experience is a bonus
  • Support and training will be provided for this role as appropriate.

Hours : 1-2 days a week, 2-3 hours per day.
