Homing Criteria
Meet Bruce! Our 4 year old bulldog cross who has just marked his 100th day in our care, and we’re hoping to find him a loving forever home in time for Christmas. He’s a chunky, cuddly boy with a heart of gold and a personality that wins over everyone he meets. Bruce knows his basic command: sit, paw, stay and he’s a dream to travel with, whether it’s a short trip or a long journey.
He’s completely unfazed by the hustle and bustle of life, spending his days riding around with our maintenance team in the Kubota, calmly overseeing fence repairs and daily site tasks. Loud noises, traffic, tractors, bin lorries, horses, and farm animals don’t bother him one bit. Bruce is currently undergoing muzzle training to help him enjoy walks around other dogs. Sometimes he passes dogs without a care in the world, and other times he gets a little frustrated and reactive, but this is a small part of his journey and doesn’t define him.
His many wonderful qualities far outweigh this. He absolutely loves a good run off-lead in a secure paddock, chasing after a ball with joy. A secure garden is a must so he can continue to enjoy this favourite pastime. Bruce is also a big fan of chews, cows ears and knuckle bones are top of his list. He’s house trained and often spends time in the work offices, usually found snoring peacefully under a desk.
What Bruce really wants is a comfy sofa to call his own and a family who appreciates the charm of bull breeds. If you’ve got a garden to play in and a soft spot for chunky cuddle monsters, please consider applying to meet Bruce. He’s ready to swap the worksite for a warm home and become the ultimate couch potato.
Let’s make this Christmas the one where Bruce finally finds his place to belong.

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED
On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
