Best friends Betty and Craig - regulars in our paddock!

7th February 2019

Craig visited Oak Tree a few weeks ago looking for a new companion after losing his much-loved Staffie. As there was nothing quite suitable for Craig and his family at that time, we immediately placed him on our homes offered list in the hope that the right match would soon be discovered.

Out of the blue a week or so after his initial visit, a beaming Craig walked into reception with Betty, a 77kg Bull Mastiff, by his side! Betty is from a Mastiff rescue and is only 18 months old so still growing! They are now regular visitors to Oak Tree, making use of our paddock area for exercise and fun.

What a beautiful dog and what a transformation in Craig, who had been missing his previous dog desperately. It just goes to show what an impact a pet can make on someone’s life.

Betty likes to get out and about exploring and recently paid a visit to Silloth. According to Craig "she absolutely loved it. She is my absolute best friend and companion and world. I love her so much and know she feels the same way about me"

We're so pleased Betty and Craig found each other and look forward to hearing more about their adventures together!

If you would like to utilise our paddock, we make it available for certain slots in the week when other areas of the site are being used by our staff and dogs. We ask for a £5 donation for an hour which goes directly towards helping local animals in need. Please call 01228 560082 Ext.225 for more information.
