Gone to the Dogs

15th August 2019

Our community team visited the dog café, Gone to the Dogs today  for one of our drop-in support and advice sessions and spoke to Paul owner of the café and Michael Community Chef.

Paul spoke about how we are working together to help the local community and their pets. “Since Julie started coming to Gone to the Dogs last November, this has not only promoted the fostering service ‘A Helping Paw’ but we have learnt about all the other services that Oak Tree Animals Charity provide for the community. This also enabled the people who Michael helps to volunteer at Oak Tree which has been very rewarding for them, I would recommend anyone to get in touch with Oak Tree, adding a purpose to life when maybe suffering anxiety or any mental health issues in a safe environment.”

“Oak Tree, Michael and myself work well together sharing the same enthusiasm and ethos, the café is an information sharing hub, joining the community, professionals and other agencies together.”

Michael and Paul shared their good news as they have just secured a deal with Morrisons to receive any surplus food to go to the Community Chef Project. Congratulations Michael and Paul!
