Fab-seil for animals

Fab-seil for animals

12th October 2019

We were absolutely delighted to join Carol Fish and the Cartmell's team for the Fabseil at East Carlisle Fire Station. This event saw four brave ladies, Marcia Reid Fotheringham (High Sheriff), Christine Bowditch (Chairman of Cumbria County Council and chair of Carlisle Mencap), Carol Fish (a Director at Cartmel Shepherd) and Kerrie Higham from The Well Communities, take on the abseil down the fire station tower, with the help and support of the fabulous fire and rescue team, to raise money for local charities.

We were thrilled to be approached by Carol, to ask whether she could raise money for Oak Tree. As a keen animal lover, the charity was very close to her heart.  Carol said "It was an absolute privilege to take part in the Fab-Seil on behalf of such a fantastic charity, Oak Tree. What a brilliant day bringing the community together and raising funds and awareness for the amazing work that Oak Tree do."

We can't thank enough the amazing people who do such wonderful things to support animals in our care. Watching Carol and the rest of the ladies was truly inspirational and our mascot Oakley just had to show his appreciation to the ladies by braving the wall!

If you would like to do your own fundraising challenge, contact our fundraising team on fundraising@oaktreeanimals.org.uk who will be able to support you through the process.
