Level 3 Cattery and Kennel Students visit Oak Tree

We believe it's really important that we are able to equip the next generation of pet professionals in our region with the best knowledge we can provide. We were so pleased to welcome today Level 3 Cattery and Kennel students at the start of a 4 week programme in our facilities.

The students were shown around the Kennel and Cattery facilities on site and our vet room looking at building structure, management, enrichment and procedures. They then helped to create climbing enrichment for the cattery pens and snuffle mats for our dogs.

Snuffle mats enable the dogs to express their natural foraging behaviour when feeding. This provides them with mental stimulation, puzzle solving abilities and relieves stress. Climbing enrichment enables our cats to feel safe by being up high, enjoying their environment and expressing their natural behaviours such as climbing and scratching.
