Oak Tree at Appleby Horse Fair

Our Equine and Community teams had a really positive weekend down at Appleby Fair. This was the first time that we had been invited to be part of the National Equine Welfare Council's activities there and our team was able to work with members of the Traveller community to promote horse welfare, provide support and answer questions about horse care.

It was also great to be a part of the "Best in Show" Awards that celebrated some great horses and their knowledgeable owners at the fair.

We worked alongside our welfare and veterinary partners at Redwings Horse Sanctuary, Blue Cross, The Donkey Sanctuary, RSPCA, and The British Horse Society and, by working together, we were able to make a real impact at the show.
