Description

Meet our very sweet (Young At Heart) Nova, who is likely to be around 13 years young. She loves to have attention from her carers. She enjoys being stroked and having cuddles.

When she arrived we were told she was estimated 1 year old, and as we already have an older Nova here, we called her Young Nova. After vet checks we now know she is much older, hence the name change again!

A few months ago, Nova was a stray who was taken in by someone who kept her as a house cat due to living near a busy road. Recently, Nova started to overgroom and they worried that she may prefer an home with outdoor access. Since being with us, we have not seen any sign of overgrooming so hopefully she is happier here in her pen with some access to outdoors.

We are looking for a home with outdoor access, away from busy roads. We are still getting to know Nova. She could possibly live with older children. She mainly would like a calm and quiet home.

CATIOS are a great concept for cats to have outdoor access without the worry of them getting lost or injured. Google CATIO to read about the different ones you can build. They can be as simple or elaborate as your budget allows.

(For more information on CATIO's, a great place to look is ProtectaPet.  They offer £50 off an order (minimum spend applies) if you quote discount code OAKTREE, plus we receive a donation of £30.  They have a range of CATIOs and pet friendly fencing options on their website.

WE HAVE MORE CATS IN NEED

On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our cats looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
