Description
Say hello to our lovely Remmi. She is a 7 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier X. Remmi was rehomed by us in 2019 and has come back into our care through no fault of her own.
Remmi loves to go out on walks with her carers and so far has been very good when she has seen dogs on her walks. We will be exploring further how well she mixes. Remmi has lived with children and could again. Just be aware, that she is a typical Staffy with all the glorious exuberance that the breed displays.
Remmi can be a bit strong on the lead in her excitement but she is responding brilliantly to our training, so this will need to continue in her new home. She enjoys interacting with her carers and is loving playing reward based games with them so if you like training and having fun with your dog, then come and meet Remmi. She has a lot of energy and may be a great running companion for someone who does park runs or canicross.
Remmi loves jumping in the car to see what adventures she can go on.
Please revisit this page for further updates as we are still assessing Remmi. Feel free to fill out our questionnaire to get your application started.
Updates
22/05/2025 Our lovely Remmi is now in a foster home! She is being the most perfect house guest. Here are a few things our fosterer has told us about her:
- Remmi is quiet overnight and has even taken herself off to bed around 10.30pm. No trouble at all.
- When there are people in the house she likes to be close to somebody, we've all had our feet warmed by being sat on, but also happy to flop in the middle of the room on her own. Definitely likes to be kept warm and basks in the sunshine.
- Remmi is willing to walk and never complains. We just need to be aware around other dogs and animals. She's just very friendly but is very keen to get there quickly and she's a strong girl.
- We've not heard her bark at all, just a little bit of whining when she sees something she wants, and we've asked the neighbours if they've heard her when we've been out. Not a peep. Most we've left her is 4 to 5 hours, on Friday. She's starting to be more excited when we return so we are hoping she's getting more comfortable and settled.
- Remmi is not destructive at all. Not an issue. She's very nosy though, but this doesn't mean she's digging in to everything. A quick look and sniff seems to satisfy curiosity.
- The two children we have at home are 18 and 13. She's fine with both of them, even the 13 year old who is a bit nervous. Is happy to greet everyone we've met. Doesn't jump up at all and follows instruction well (down, no etc). Recall isn't the best while out but is fine around the house and garden.
- Remmi likes to lie on the grass outside. She can be a bit boisterous when playing but just because she's a strong and athletic dog, she's not actually losing control. She also calms down very quickly.

WE HAVE MORE DOGS IN NEED
On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. Please take a look at some of our dogs looking for loving homes and see if you can find a friend for life. Where appropriate, all of our animals are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. We also give each animal a behavioural assessment to identify their needs and help you find your perfect companion.
